I’m experimenting with the ES-8 to control the pitch of an oscillator.
As a first step, I’ve setup a UI app slider that sends equi-distant float values in the range of -1.0 to 1.0 to the ES-8.
If I start outputting 0.0 and then do twelve steps of 0.083 up to 1.0 with the ES-8 connected to the 1 Volt/Octave input of a Make Noise STO, I’m finding that the pitch doesn’t track as I’d expect.
It seems that a step from 0.91666 + 0.0833 = 1.0f has a different pitch increment than step from
0.0 + 0.0833 = 0.0833
My main question is what is the relationship between float values in the range of -1.0 to 1.0 and the ES-8 outputs. Would be great to know what the exact mapping of the float values is to CV voltage.
